Denver Institute for Psychoanalysis 

The Denver Institute for Psychoanalysis does not offer payment plans, financial aid or scholarships.

Analytic candidates in the Child & Adolescent program may qualify for low-fee subsidy.  Contact the Child & Adolescent Committee Chair for information.    

Affiliate Organizations

As part of the Denver Institute for Psychoanalysis, an Affiliate Institute of the American Psychoanalytic Association (APsA) and the International Psychoanalytic Association (IPA), Analytic Candidates are eligible to join and take advantage of benefits of membership in both APaA and the IPA.  The information below is subject to change, please contact the organization directly for most up-to-date information and with any questions

American Psychoanalytic Association (APaA) Loans

  • Candidates are eligible for APsA training loans.
  • Candidates may borrow $5,000 interest- free from APsA for the expenses of psychoanalytic training.
  • Eligibility requirements are being an APsA Affiliate member in good standing, having completed one year of training, and demonstration of financial need. This loan must be repaid within five years after graduation from the Denver Institute for Psychoanalysis. 
  • Application deadline: April 30th

International Psychoanaltyic Association (IPA) Loans

In order to be eligible for loan consideration, applicants must be:

  • IPA Candidates - an IPA Candidate is one studying at an IPA recognized institute or under an IPA sponsoring committee and undergoing a course that will lead to membership in the related IPA Society and thus the IPA itself.
  • In good standing with their training institute
  • Have at least one active psychoanalytic supervised treatment at the time of application - an active supervised treatment means that you are already seeing a patient in a supervised psychoanalysis.
  • Application deadline: end of May
